I used to think that egg whites only had one purpose: to be scrambled with spinach and tomatoes and topped with salsa. There are too many ways to eat AllWhites, but I’m going to narrow it down to my 3 most favorite recipes that I’m currently consuming multiple times a week, because when I love something I REALLY love it. In breakfast, lunch, and dinner, I’m finding new ways to use AllWhites, and it’s keeping my brain and my tastebuds very excited. So, without further ado, here are 3 ways to eat egg whites.
Breakfast: Green Power Protein Smoothie
Blending egg whites into a superfood-packed smoothie adds a protein boost that will give you energy throughout the day! Plus, egg whites add a frothiness to your smoothie that creates a great texture. AllWhites 100% liquid egg whites are completely pasteurized, so they’re safe to add to smoothies and other blended beverages!
- 1/2 cup AllWhites 100% Liquid Egg Whites
- 1 cup pineapple
- 1/2 banana
- 1 cup spinach
- 1/4 avocado
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp coconut oil
Blend all ingredients and enjoy!
Lunch: Egg White Hummus Lettuce Cups
This might be the weirdest combination of ingredients ever, but I promise it is DELISH. The egg whites add texture to the hummus, creating a faux egg salad that is so much healthier (and dare I say tastier?!) than the traditional version.
- 1 cup AllWhites 100% Liquid Egg Whites
- 1/4 cup hummus
- 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced in half
- 4 romaine lettuce leaves
- salt and pepper
Scramble the egg whites until cooked. In a bowl, mix together the egg whites and hummus, adding in the avocado and tomato and seasoning to taste. Divide evenly among the lettuce leaves and serve.
Dinner: Spicy Egg White Mexican Scramble
I usually get home late at night and don’t have time to cook an elaborate meal. This flavorful recipe takes less than 15 minutes and it’s packed with protein to keep me satisfied for the night!
- 3/4 cup AllWhites 100% liquid egg whites
- 1/3 tomato, chopped
- 1/3 onion, chopped
- 1/3 bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 tbs olive oil
- 1/2 cup black beans
- Chili powder, salt and pepper
- Optional: shredded cheddar cheese, cilantro, jalapeños
Add the oil to the pan on medium heat. Sauté the onion and pepper until soft, then add the tomato and cook until wilted. Pour the egg whites into the pan and scramble. Season with chili powder, salt and pepper to taste. In a separate pan, heat up the black beans. When egg whites are fully cooked, add all ingredients to a plate and sprinkle with desired toppings.
As you can see, AllWhites egg whites are so versatile. They can be sweet or savory, but always delicious.
